History of the Jungle
Between Cancún and Playa del Carmen, just 30 minutes from Cancún International Airport, lies the scenic Ruta de los Cenotes. This region still preserves extensive stretches of beautiful tropical jungle, making it an excellent destination for birdwatching.
During our visit, we will explore two outstanding birding sites where a wide variety of species can be observed, including the Barred Antshrike, as well as Yucatán endemics such as the Yucatan Woodpecker and the Yucatan Jay.

Rio Lagartos
The breathtaking Ría Lagartos Biosphere Reserve is renowned for the opportunity to observe a great variety of birds and other wildlife in their natural habitat. Enjoy a stunning boat ride along the estuary while taking in the region’s extraordinary scenery and biodiversity.
Birdwatching on land offers the chance to spot endemic species such as the Mexican Sheartail and the Yucatan Wren, among many others.

End of the Road
In the western part of Quintana Roo, we will enjoy birdwatching in and around a traditional village. This half-day tour takes you through a variety of fascinating habitats, offering excellent opportunities to observe the region’s rich birdlife.
The local community lives mainly from agriculture and apiculture, adding a unique cultural dimension to the experience and making this a particularly interesting destination for birding. A birdwatching tour with an authentic local touch.

Mayan Sites
Located west of Tulum, there are peaceful areas in the surroundings of some wonderful Mayan archeological sites and spectacular lakes. Enjoy a wonderful morning where you’ll see many birds and, at the same time, will learn more about the history of the great Mayan civilization.
Bird-watching is obviously the priority of this wonderful tour.

Above & Below
This tour is the perfect combination of birds in their natural habitat combined with a visit to a spectacular cave in the Riviera Maya. In the Yucatan we don’t have normal rivers, but we do have a great variety of wildlife thanks to the underground rivers. Because of these sinkholes we have many different bird species of which some of them even built their nests into these awesome places. Come and join me on this wonderful excursion named; Above & Below.
