Steven, a local bird-watching guide, holding binoculars with a tripod, searching for different bird species in the Yucatan Peninsula and Riviera Maya

Birding tours in Riviera Maya & Yucatan with Steven.

The Yucatán Peninsula is a true paradise for birdwatchers. Home to approximately 550 bird species, it boasts more than half of all the bird species found in Mexico, making it one of the country's richest regions for birdlife.

Steven leads birdwatching tours to exceptional natural and cultural destinations, including ancient Maya sites, traditional villages, mangrove forests, tropical jungle, nature parks, and the biosphere reserves of Río Lagartos and Sian Ka'an. Drawing on many years of experience, he identifies birds not only by their distinctive field marks but also by their calls and songs—often long before they come into view. This allows participants to discover a fascinating world of birdlife that many visitors would otherwise miss.

Tours are available in: English, Nederlands, Deutsch and Español
